What is Not Covered by the Leed Warranty
Leed products come with a powerful guarantee; we stand behind the legendary quality and detail of all our products. But we also embrace the wild, adventurous, unforeseen ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship of your Leed product, you can file a claim by completing Leed's warranty claim process. Login to your account and file the claim. If your product meets Leed's warranty policy, a store credit will be issued for a replacement product (shipping and taxes not included in credit). If your Leed product is damaged during normal or abnormal adventure, you will not qualify for a warranty replacement, but you will have epic stories to tell your friends. Overseas shipments are not covered under shipping damages. Kits in the United States are shipped via FedEx Ground and guaranteed to be damage-free. Unfortunately, we do not have control of the shipment once it leave United States territory as it is turned over to your local shipping service. Therefore, once a product leaves the United States it no longer falls within our warranty guidelines. Our batteries are warranted to work upon arrival. Fortunately for you, we have been in business long enough to now offer the two-year warranty on ALL our battery systems in addition to all of our products. Batteries are guaranteed for their tested life span of 1500 charges at 80% remaining capacity, and we cannot warranty them for most stresses and adventures you may put them through. We do offer damage and crash replacement batteries at a significant discount - crashes and "dropped batteries" or damaged batteries are not covered under the terms of the warranty - if your battery has been damaged during your journeys. Please care for your battery with TLC!
"Spin Out" - Spinning out the axles inside of your dropouts - We are unable to be there when the kit is installed so it is up to you to understand the high torque involved at the dropouts and install them correctly. If your dropouts are not correctly suited to fit the axle then you should not install the kit on those forks. Get new forks, file the forks to the axle fit "flush" or contact us to return the kit. We will not refund or replace a motor that has been "spun out".
"Over Voltage" - Connecting a larger battery larger than 30 nominal volts can damage the controller, wires and/or connectors. Damaging any kit component or motor by connecting the wrong battery type is not covered under our warranty. The Leed controller will work with any 24 volt (30v nominal) battery pack. Using the controller with any battery larger than 30 nominal volts will void the warranty for your controller.
Water Damage to the Battery/Improperly Caring for the Battery - The battery warranty does not include damage from power surges, use of improper charger, improper maintenance or other such misuse, or improper wear and tear from wild use.
* Batteries need to be stored fully charged and kept in a dry environment. They should be charged after use and never stored for long periods of time - 60 days - empty or without maintenance charging - full charge every 60 days.
* Batteries should not be submerged in liquid or exposed to moisture for any reason.
Warranties are limited to replacement of parts and/or products determined by Leed, at its sole discretion, to be defective. In cases where multiple components are missing, you may be redirected to the retailer for assistance. If you have crashed and damaged your kit, submit a crash replacement warranty claim and we may approve a replacement kit at cost. The item needs to arrive at our warehouse for us to inspect prior to a warranty or crash replacement approval. We want to keep you riding and enjoying the adventure.
Leed Limited Warranty does not cover or apply to the following: Wild wear and tear; any damage, failure and/or loss caused by accident, overseas shipping, misuse, neglect, improper storage, extreme weather, sparks, abuse and/or failure to follow instructions or warnings as stated on the product or in the applicable owner’s manual or other printed materials provided with the product; damage, failure and/or loss caused by the use of the product for stunt riding, ramp jumping, competition, off-road use, acrobatics, trick riding, or other similar activities, or use in any other manner for which such products were not specifically designed.
This warranty does not apply to any products or components, mechanical and/or electrical, which have in any way been altered from their original configuration by any person. Leed will not be liable and/or responsible for any damage, failure or loss caused by any unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.
Rentals, Commercial Use & Non- Authorized or 3rd Party Sellers:
The Leed Limited Warranty does not cover or apply to any Leed product used for rental or commercial purposes unless the specific product is designated, labeled or marketed by Leed as acceptable for rental or commercial use. All products used for rentals are warranted across the board for a period of 90 days.
The Leed Limited Warranty does not cover or apply to any Leed product sold by a non-authorized reseller or retailer.
The Leed Limited Warranty does not cover or apply to any replacement, maintenance or accessory parts not sold directly by Leed to the original retail purchaser.
Those parts and/or products which are determined by Leed to be defective and to qualify for warranty replacement will be provided at no charge, only after a valid warranty claim is processed by Leed Customer Service Department. Warranty claims must be made by the original purchaser by submitting the claim online after logging into your account within the warranty period (stated above). Customer is responsible for shipping charges to return part to LEED. Shipping & Handling fees will apply to all orders placed for warranty parts and/or products and will be invoiced to the customer/warranty claimant at the time said parts and/or products are shipped from Leed.
Leed, at its sole discretion, has the option of replacing with a new part, or factory re-certified part. The Limited Warranty stated herein is in lieu of and expressly excludes all other warranties not expressly set forth herein, whether expressed or implied by law or otherwise, including, but not limited to, any warranties for merchantability and/or fitness for any particular purpose. Leed shall in no event be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential losses, damages or expenses in connection with their products. I put this on a Schwinn that I picked up from Target. Use it mostly for commuting but sometimes take it out on the weekend for a 20 mile ride. I have a 29'er and a Specialized carbon road bike as well.
Quick set up, very reliable.10 months, over 1100 miles and no problems. I have the 30K and commute 7 miles to / 7 miles back from my office most days. No problem riding in the rain. I was concerned about the push button switch ( I thought a twist throttle would be better based on my motorcycle experience) but I find that the simple button is really the best thing for me. I don't tend to use the motor continuously ( although I do when I am biking into a head wind). Makes the commute a joy. I don't notice any drag from the motor when I don't have it switched on -rides just like a regular bike.
Since it is my commuter bike, it is not light - kickstand, mirror, tool bag, cable lock, water bottle, bell, front and rear lights, speedometer - not to mention me and my back pack. No problems doing 19-20 mph (with no input from me) on the flat, no wind, and with smooth roads. I put on Kevlar commuting tires ( $20 each from the local bike store) which has really helped in avoiding flats. And I keep the bicycle clean, well lubricated, and tuned - the basics that help any bike perform well.
I mostly wanted to be on my bicycle more. I have a Honda and SUV, and I could have bought a motorcycle - but that is not what I wanted. I have great roads and no ice or snow ( I live in Florida). A lot more fun to be on my bicycle for a 30 minute ride as opposed to in my car for 15 minutes. This set up does exactly what I wanted it to do.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely!

I bought this kit about a year ago. It installed in minutes, and I've since used it almost every day. My bike has 2 child seats (for my pre-schooler and toddler), and we all ride home from daycare. We can't go very fast with all our weight, but the motor definitely takes the edge off of our semi-hilly terrain. No more arriving to work/home in a sweaty mess.
Because of the usefulness of the motorized family bike, we've avoided buying a 2nd car. Now the the kids are getting bigger, I am considering getting a cargo bike with larger seats and swapping the 26" motorized wheel onto it.

I put this kit on my trek 3500 with disk brakes, unfortunately on my bike the brake mechanism is mounted just a little bit inside the forks so when i attached the tire the spokes hit the brake mechanism, this is not a problem with the kit but just something to look at if you have disk brakes. I took my disk brake mechanism off and put an old side pull caliper on and it worked out alright.
The actual motor is great; I managed to cut off ten minutes on my 7 mile bike to work and managed to arrive without a bead of sweat. It seems well made, and the battery and bag it comes with is a sturdy package and the motor itself seems durable.
I chose to upgrade to the 9 dollar seat bag and kind of wished I didn't, it’s pretty flimsy and the zippers get caught a lot and it attaches to the bike in a questionable manner but for 9 bucks it’s not a huge deal, I'll be getting a more sturdy bag for under my center bar that attaches a little better.
Also this is going to take more than 5 minutes to set up, in the video they put the tire on and throw all the cords in a front basket and doing that will take five minutes, if you have the battery mounted under the center pole like i do or even under your seat it’s going to take a while to figure out how you want all the cords placed and zip tied so they’re not in your way. All in all it took me about 25 minutes getting everything set up in a way that looked neat and worked well.
But overall it’s is an awesome and fun kit to have, I have a lot of fun riding and love how easy it has made my commute.

I'm definitely enjoying this; to start with, I'm 6'1" and about 280lbs, so I'm no lightweight, particularly when I add a backpack with my laptop and such in it. This will keep me going about 10-12mph without peddling, but that's actually about what I wanted, so that's not a big deal.
I love having it on and it's going to be a great help as I try to get back into shape. It keeps me moving enough to get to my destination even when I'm exhausted, but is just slow enough that I tend to try to pedal and keep going faster so I don't take all day getting there. Perfect for my needs =]

I own both the Leed 30k - 20mi Samsung battery and 24 mile Panasonic batteries. The Panasonic is about a pound heavier and is rated at 4-5 miles more distance. Both are excellent and give rides longer than the distances they are rated.
Also, in comparison to other battery/bicycle kits out there, these batteries are rated for more recharge cycles at higher capacities. If you look at the chart under each kit you will see that the 30k Samsung and Panasonic batteries are rated at 600 full charge cycles at 100% depletion. That means if you drained the battery completely and recharged you could get 600 full recharges before the battery dies. And if you just rode till there was only 80% depletion you would get 1500 recharge cycles. That's a lot of charges!
80% of 20 miles is 16 for the Samsung. 80% of 24 miles is about 19.2 miles. So, if you rode 16-19.2 miles daily, it would give you over 4 years of use! If you just rode every other day that works out to 8 years! That's a huge life for any battery and definitely worth the price of the kit, money saved on gas for a car, kindness to the environment.
The Leed e-Bike Kit has proven to be very dependable, powerful and everything and more than advertised. Once you get one you will not regret it and find yourself riding more and suffering less because it makes bicycle riding a pleasure!
I tell everyone about it and I meet tons of people everytime I ride my bicycle around town or on extended rides.
Help spread the word, lets get more people riding Green and Clean!

Why do you ship Hazmat stickers on the box? Everything else was good to go. Great product and fast service. Bravo!

The unit installed easily. Since I don't have a front basket finding a place for the battery was the most difficult part of the installation. I finally hung it from the cross tube. It works well. It does everything it is supposed to do. I haven't used it very much due to the cold weather. I am looking forward to many miles of riding.
